Name: Aldous Leonard Huxley
Born: Godalming,Surrey, 26th July 1894. Son of Scientist T. H. Huxley.
Education: Eton then BalliolCollege, Oxford for a B.A. Honours Degree in English.
Family: Married twice firstto Maria Nys (1919) and then to Laura Archera (1956).
Career:
1917 Worked in the war office.
1918 Taughtat Eton College.
1919 - 1920 Member of the EditorialStaff at Athaeneum, London.
1920 - 1921 Drama Critic with the Westminster Gazette.
1921 Became a Full- time writer.
1923 - 1937 Travelled and Livedin France, Italy and USA.
1937 Settled in Californiaand worked as a freelance scriptwriter.
Literary Works: Produced 11Novels, of which 'Brave New World', published in 1932, is the most wellknown.
Died: 22 November 1963.
